Example of a blue route

Schönachtal

The ideal mountaibike tour for beginners: The 11 km lenght of the route and the elevation gain of 200 m are suitable for those who are not trained mountainbikers. The simple to drive gravel road in the Schönachtal is only moderately steep. The scenerey though is one pf the hoghlights of the region. The Issalm, the reversal point of the tour, is surrounded by majestic rock formations and at the end of the valley the Schönachglacier and the Zillerkopf loom high in the sky. The tops of the Schönachschneid and the Zillerkopf are at almost 3000 m altitude. The Lackenalm is both on the way up and the way down a very nice place to rest and have something to eat and/or eat.

Examples single-trail routes

Almdudler Himmelfahrt and Höllenritt

Mountain bikers discovered the potential of the Penken long ago. Freeriders particularly like the narrow trails – so-called singletracks. The “Himmelfahrt - Ascension Trail” is of medium difficulty and offers in addition to a slightly easier route, plenty of varied options for experienced mountain bikers and action lovers.

The difficulty of the route can be varied with challenging obstacles and various North Shore elements. Freeriders can test their skills on jumps, banked curves and wave lines. Only natural materials such as wood, earth and stone were used for the construction of the North Shore obstacles. Of course, all obstacles can be easily avoided by taking the "chickenway" out.

At the end you can either carry on cycling through the Horberg Valley on existing bike trails back down to your original starting point at the Penken Lifts, or take the „Almdudler Höllenritt - Ride to Hell“ trail back down to the valley. This was specifically created for advanced downhill mountain bikers.
